Microsoft Brings 3D Gaming to Copilot AI Chatbot

Microsoft is actively developing 3D gaming experiences for its AI-powered Copilot chatbot platform, as revealed by a Beijing-based job listing published this week aimed at expanding interactive features for millions of users worldwide.

New Job Listing Highlights Web 3D Engine Integration

The job posting seeks a senior software engineer based in Beijing specializing in 3D rendering engines—specifically browser-friendly frameworks such as Babylon.js, three.js, and Unity.

“Are you passionate about gaming and interested in building innovative solutions for billions of users?” the position description asks. “If you have a background in gaming or a strong passion for it, this is the perfect opportunity for you!”

Microsoft’s Push Toward Interactive AI Experiences

This recruitment effort reinforces Microsoft’s broader objective to make gaming an integral component of the Copilot ecosystem.

In February, Microsoft demonstrated an AI model named Muse, designed to generate short interactive titles on Copilot. Trained on Ninja Theory’s multiplayer title Bleeding Edge, Muse comprehends 3D environments, game physics, and real-time controller inputs to generate gameplay fully rendered by artificial intelligence.

In-Game Assistance and Character Testing

Additionally, Microsoft announced last May that it was working to embed Copilot directly into video games, beginning with Minecraft. The demonstration showed Copilot answering queries like “How do I craft a sword?” by scanning the player’s inventory and offering step-by-step instructions to retrieve missing materials.

To further boost user engagement, Microsoft has also been experimenting with character-driven interactions. In January, reverse engineer Alexey Shabanov uncovered two animated avatars hidden within Copilot, built to communicate with users using sound effects and visual animations.
